How will you define and differentiate noun and adjective?
Noun is defined as a name of place, person, animal, thing, quality, action. in quality we have kindness , bravery, beauty, etc
But if noun is a quality then what is an adjective. it is also a quality. a brave man, a beautiful girl. if u say that an adjecive is a word that is a quality of a particualr person.. then isnt honesty a quality of a man in the statement : He is proud of his honesty.
So how what should be the EXACT definition of noun and adjective. What is a “thing” in the definition of noun that it is a name of a thing.
Present your own opinions. and if you quote from a grammarian, then name him.
A noun is not necessarily an object. Courage is not an object. The difference between a quality as noun and a qualitative adjective is that an adjective describes a noun. An adjective applies to something else–a noun stands on its on.
For example.
I am happy. (Happy is an adjective (predicate adjective in this case) which describes the state that “I” am now in.
I found happiness (Happiness is something which I have found–it does not describe me.)
