
How to Build your Own Healthy Eating Plans
No matter what type of metabolism you have, to succeed in fat loss you need to create your own healthy eating plans. As the word “plans” implies, you can’t expect to wait until you are hungry enough to chew off your own arm to start thinking about what you will eat on a given day. Planning is the very bedrock of successful weight loss.
Eating for Weight Loss isn’t Dieting
Dieting, as I was once told, starts with the word “die” and that is about the truth. No diet is a livable proposition – at least not those popular fad diets we see all over the television. With ridiculous restrictions, elimination of entire food groups and promises of huge weight loss over a short period of time, they are simply not good for you.
Planning out what you will eat that will keep you strong and vibrant while encouraging your body to eliminate fat stores is the way to succeed.
Organize your Kitchen
If your kitchen remains filled with all the junk you have been eating for years, the very things that have caused you to pack on the pounds, then you have little chance of success. Your first step will be to take all the things that you know you shouldn’t eat, processed foods, sugars, wheat and chemically laden ingredients, and put them in a box.
Before you panic, I am not advocating throwing them out if you can’t afford to, although you should if you can, instead, as you finish each one, replace it with a better, healthier alternative. That will spread out the cost of changing your eating style, and will give you some transition time, which will make the process easier.
Next, sit down and figure out what kind of things you need in your home so you can plan what you will be eating on a day to day basis.
Planning Your Next Meal Ahead of Time
If you are a protein type, you know that you will require a number of sources of good, healthy protein every day. You won’t need too many carbohydrate sources, but those that you do consume should be convenient and loaded with nutrients.
On the other hand, if you are a carbohydrate type, you will want to load up your kitchen with lots of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and other seasonal ingredients. Splurge a little on your proteins since you won’t eat as many of them. Now, you are ready to make some plans.
Precooking a number of fish fillets, chicken breasts and hardboiled eggs means that you have one thing out of the way for quick and easy meals. Prewashing vegetables or cooking up several portions of quinoa or brown rice means that when you come home after work, dinner is just a few minutes away. It is all about the planning.
By taking the time to arrange ingredients and shopping to accommodate your new, healthier eating habits, you ensure that your healthy eating plans will succeed. You won’t be tempted to stop at the fast food restaurant on your way home because you’ll know that sitting in your kitchen is everything you need to stick to your plan.
