
any ideas on healthy foods with high calories for packing on muscle?
I eat around 4,000 calories a day but i find it hard to get that extra 1,000 cal in my diet. and how long should it take to digest my food.
Obviously, you’re looking at lots of protein, but don’t forget that you need good carbs to balance it out. The carbs, especially when consumed raw, will help you digest your protein…this is why people typically double their protein intake to equal their target carb intake. Nutrient-dense foods will always have more calories than their fake counterparts, so things like whole-grain bread (not whole wheat, not “carb-free” or diet bread), spinach instead of lettuce, sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes, and brown rice instead of white rice will all help.
There are two supplement options as well:
1. Gainer. Gainers have anywhere from 600-2500 calories per serving that you consume as a milkshake.
