
Does the Jerusalem Diet work?
For one day a week you eat only fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. You weigh yourself every day and loose one pound a week.
Fad diets like that are no good. they are not good for your health and people who go on these fad diets, lose the weight that they want, start eating normally again end up gaining a lot of weight back because the body thought that it was starving. A lot of fad diets cause our bodies to lack what it needs and our bodies start to accomodate for whatever it is that it is missing. For example, our bodies need carbs, low carb diets are no good. Your body will see that it is lacking carbs and your muscles start to turn into sugar to accomodate for the missing carbs.
I know people that were on the low carb diets and they were always tired out and run down and they just did not look healthy.
When I was struggling with my weight after recovering from thyroid disease a doctor tried putting me on the atkins diet I ended up passing out from low blood sugar, then he said to try the southbeach diet, I got even sicker and I missed 2 months of work. Had to go through the misery of glucose tests and so on and so forth. Besides that I was not losing any weight.
Well.. my parents met up with this great doctor, he said” I know what you need”
He told me to limit my food intake. Eat healthy meals. Smaller meals , don’t eat everytime I feel hungry and if i snack snack on half of a peanut butter sandwich or half of a protein bar or something like that. Desserts don’t hurt as long as it is a little bit and on occasion Boom!! It’s been almost two years. My weight is almost normal. You know, it took a lot of discipline and control. I eat normally, I excercise, I drink plenty of water. I am just fine.
You don’t need any fancy diet to lose weight.
Weight watchers is a great program that can help you monitor your eating. They will put you on a point system and they weigh you every week. I hear it’s a great program!! AND you don’t have to buy fancy crappy food, it is normal everyday food.
