Outdoor enthusiasts will not be disappointed when they visit New Hampshire. In any season there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. There is everything from canoeing to hiking to biking to skiing. New Hampshire is a fine place to enjoy nature.

Take The Cherry Mountain Loop Trail

One popular mountain biking trail is the Cherry Mountain Loop trail in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire. Hop on your Schwinn mountain bike and you are off on a 25 mile loop that goes around the Dartmouth Range past three waterfalls and through some of the best views of the area that you will find. The trail runs along the Ammonoosuc River following the Lower Falls Hiking Trail. About a half mile in, stop and see the Lower Falls. Be sure to bring your camera. These falls make for some fabulous pictures. Continuing on the unpaved Cherry Mountain Road, you can either make a side tour to the top of Mt. Martha or keep to the main loop on to Mt. Mitten Road. Eventually Mt. Mitten Road ends at Jefferson Notch. There are 25 miles of trails on the Cherry Mountain Loop.

Take The Attitash Trails

Not only is Attitash in Bartlett, New Hampshire known for its waterslides and other fun family activities, it is also home to some very fast downhill trails and some easy cross country trails. If you dare, take the tram to the top of the mountain and ride downhill to the bottom on the super-steep trail. Make sure you wear your padded Pearl Izumi shorts, though, or your backside will definitely feel it. The cross country trails start at the base lodge. You can ride along the Saco River on trail 16 to trail nine. A ride around Thorne Pond’s trail 15 puts you back at trail 16 where you can follow your tire tracks back to the base lodge. Attitash has bikes for rent.

Keene’s Drummer Hill Trail

In southwestern New Hampshire, the Drummer Hill Trail in Keene has trails that will suit everyone from the beginning mountain biker to the expert bikers riding Diamondback bikes.
