high fiber diet water retention
What is the connection between water retention and constipation?High Fiber and Water diet already tried.?

I have tried everything imaginable. Specialists are no help. They say it is b/c females are wired this way! Been hospitalized for it….any experience or help?
I am not taking laxs and not bed bound. Exercise at LEAST 3 days per week usually more.

I’m not really sure what you are asking but I’ll try to help. The water you drink is absorbed in your intestines, not your stomach. Natural fiber will absorb the water and make your stool soft and easy to pass. If you are constipated, you need to consistently take a natural fiber and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Eat fresh fruits and veggies and drink prune juice. You can take a stool softener also.

Have you been taking a laxative? If you have, your body will get use to this and it will be hard to have a natural bowel movement without the laxative.

Are you mobile? Moderate exercise helps the bowels move. If you are bed bound or have been in the hospital or had surgery, this may result in constipation. Also, any narcotics you might take, say for pain, can cause constipation by slowing the peristalsis (movement in your intestines) and therefore resulting in constipation.

I’m not sure if this will help; hope it does.
