south beach diet dangerous
Is the South Beach diet unhealthy for teens?

I'm 18 years old, I was wondering if the diet of South Beach was dangerous for me or not … Restrictions on certain foods in Phase I, as well as high intake of carbohydrates, no fruits, makes me wonder if it is healthy for someone my age no? Should I follow with any concern?

No South Beach Diet is not healthy for anyone. Especially if you're still growing. What you:) Here are some tips to help you lose weight the healthy way: 1. Change your diet. Try to get most of their calories from complex carbohydrates (This will give you energy and make you feel full). Remember, you will lose fat burn more calories each day than you consume. Example: If you burn 2,000 calories every day just by existing, and burn 300 more through exercise, eating less than 2,300 calories. Never skip breakfast. Snacks are fine as long as they are healthy. Examples: fruits and vegetables, rice crisps, peanuts, yogurt, etc. ..) Also, small things will help tons! I like to switch to milk skim, lowfat eating, use cooking spray instead of oil, opt for low fat foods, eat whole grain bread … All these things will help a lot. 2. Drink at least 8 (8 ounce) glasses of water a day. The more water you drink, the better. Especially if you are working out. 3. Try to do 20-40 minutes of cardiovascular exercise continuous (jogging, speed walking, bicycling, elliptical) every day, at least 3 times a week (most days you can do this better.) 4. Create a weight training program. Try to make a strength training exercises usually at least 3 times a week. Remember that muscles burn fat. Thus, more lean muscle tissue that is in your body, the faster it burns fat. 5. Stretch! This will help lengthen and tone muscles. Some studies even indicate that it may help to avoid injury. It also feels great! Sometimes it takes about 8-12 weeks after starting a weight loss regimen to see results (Depending on the intensity of your fitness plan.) So be patient and keep with it! Worth it. Hope this helps! Good luck!
